6 ways I have made money on Instagram

Growing a personal page on Instagram can have different benefits. It’s not all about money; personal branding is important these days. More visibility leads to more sales and higher trust levels. Many people search for services and experts online. If you don’t exist online, it’s likely that your rivals are going to win those potential new customers. Nevertheless, making money out of the traffic that you gain online is still interesting. I did both on my Instagram page; I used it as a channel to introduce myself to the market of social media management and earn money from other activities. I will break it down to share different ways that my pages helped me make money. If you speak Persian, you can go ahead and watch my video. Otherwise, please keep reading.

1. Ads

Ads are the first thing that come to mind when we talk about Instagram pages and money! For me, a social media specialist, it is important to select offers so that they really fit my page and my audience would like to see them. Posting ads is the most common way to make money on Instagram; however, it’s not at all the only one.

2. Affiliate marketing

Helping brands sell their products is another way to make money on social media. I used my Instagram page for affiliate marketing campaigns on educational courses that my followers would find useful. This way I could make more money that exceeded the price of one ad, based on the number of sign-ups. I am also an Amazon influencer and my followers on Instagram and YouTube can shop anything they like to have on my Amazon storefront here.

3. Social media management

The main profit of my Instagram page comes from finding new clients for myself as a social media manager. Instagram is a place for me to show my expertise and build trust around my personal brand. I have found so many clients that found my content useful and wanted me to create a strategy for them and help their pages grow. Without an Instagram page that exposed my work to them, I might have been looking for clients in freelancer websites all the time, which is OK but requires a different kind of effort.

4. Consultation

One of my favorite tasks in social media marketing is consultation. It gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and help clients understand what they need to do on their social media. While I don’t have the time to help every single client out with execution, I enjoy giving hints and tips that they can execute themselves. Plus, not every single client has the money to spend on hiring a social media manager. I’m glad I can help small businesses that only want to spent a one-time budget on social media growth.

5. Educating

I have hosted webinars and workshops to train new social media managers or business owners who need to do administration for their own channels. How did these students find me? They mostly knew me from my Instagram page because I had built a community by sharing my knowledge before starting classes. So when I announced my classes, they could trust me and take part in them.

6. Selling handmade statues

This is a completely different experience! I almost started an artistic business with my Papier Mache statues! Although I loved the art and sold some stuff on an Instagram page, I could not continue to spend time on this one besides everything else that was going on. So, I had to quit. But it was a useful experience because it taught me how an active personal page can send actual traffic to a business page and directly lead to sales. Whenever I had a new product posted on the statue page, I just shared a story of it in my personal 20K page and it was gone!
